Ho, Ho, Ho!
It is a lovely time of year to celebrate, meet with family and friends, enjoy delicious food, rest and relax.
But it’s also a time after which many people will feel guilty, unhappy and stressed because they ate too much and quite possibly gain few kilograms that they have struggled to lose before.
So, if you are one of those people, I have good news for you!
It does not have to be this way.
Today I will share a few tips on how to survive Christmas… and not gain weight!
Nutrition – you don’t need to bring your meal prep food to a Christmas dinner, follow the steps below and enjoy a stress-free celebration.
- Stick to your daily fruit and vegetable intake
- Drink a glass of water before meals
- Mindful eating – eat slowly and give your brain a chance to notice you are full
Physical Activity – if you don’t have time, don’t want to or maybe the gym is closed, here is what you can do.
- Do at least 15-20min of home workout
- Go for a walk or two
- Do some activities with the family
Sleep – make sure to have good quality sleep, it will help a lot!
- Better mood, less stress
- More energy
- Less cravings
That’s a few very easy-to-follow but meaningful steps you can take to minimize your weight gain over Christmas.
You will see the difference in the New Year when you do not have to go on a diet and start over again because there will be nothing to lose!
Have a great Christmas, enjoy your time with family and friends. Switch off, and recharge batteries, but keep yourself active and in shape, so fitness and losing weight will not have to be your New Year’s resolution…AGAIN!
