Do I have your attention now? Because, as everyone knows, cardio sucks.
Remember when the criteria for a good exercise plan was measured by how many hours you spent on the treadmill, exercise bike or elliptical machine?
The idea that, “Aerobic Exercise Will Help You Lose Fat?”
It was a big lie. Well, not exactly, but there are much better ways to lose fat.
The truth is, that the effect of regular aerobic exercise on body fat is not as big as most people think.
Now, aerobic exercise, when done right, certainly has other benefits. Cardiovascular health, mental & emotional health, and more.
I’m not discounting its value. I’m just saying this shouldn’t be your only form of exercise.
The best way to get more “tone”, that’s a word I really don’t like, but most people understand it to mean “less fat”, is to perform progressive strength training 2-3 times per week, and sprinkle in a few short sessions of cardiovascular exercise.
Not endless miles on the bike or treadmill. However, this type of cardio has its time and place, too!
But, regularly lifting weights and performing short, intense bouts of cardiovascular exercise have been scientifically proven to be really effective.
Oh and more fun, too.
So, if you are one of those people who really hate long cardio sessions and think that cardio sucks, don’t worry! There are better ways to lose body fat.
